The ladies 5s penultimate game was at home against a strong Cliftonville 2s. We were a bit slow to get started and the opposition took advantage of this making our defence work hard to prevent them from scoring. We had a few attacks and were awarded a couple of short corners which player of the match Tess Huijgen took advantage of and deflected the ball into the net to give us the lead. We picked up our game and shortly before half time Lilly-Ella Gore put us 2 - 0 up. Everybody in the team worked hard in the second half and goalie Kendra Charman made a brilliant save to prevent Cliftonville from scoring at the far post. After a lot of pressure from the forwards Ellie Watkins pounced on a loose ball in the D and slotted it past the goalie for a 3 - 0 win leaving us joint top of the league. The ladies 5s final game is away at Herne Bay to decide who wins the league!
