The beginning of the 2024-25 season will see the launch of Folkestone Futures. This is an exciting new initiative to help support some of our most talented young Optimist players on their way to reaching their potential.

The programme will run in two 5/6 week blocks, one outdoor before Christmas and one indoor after Christmas. The sessions will be 2 hours each and focus on specific skills in an intense junior performance environment.

Players will be invited to join the programme at the beginning of the season but it will not be a ‘closed shop’ and players outside of the group may have the opportunity to be invited to join the programme partway through the season.

We hope that this will increase our opportunities to support our talented young players on their hockey journey, whatever route that may take - whether it be performance level senior club or university hockey, or junior county, regional or international pathways. We look forward to welcoming the first cohort onto the programme this Autumn.
