Meet at Clubhouse at 10.15am for a 10.30 set off. Any under 15s should be supervised by a named adult for this event. Back up vehicles will be used to pick up stragglers/breakdowns. The following route is by Pub Names as we will be using them as rest stops on the way round.

Stage 1 - Hockey Club to the County Members in Lympne

Stage 2 - County Members to Botolphs Bridge

Stage 3 - Botolphs Bridge to Shepard and Crook in Burmarsh

Stage 4 - Shepherd and Crook to Prince of Wales in Hythe

Stage 5 - Prince of Wales to Famous Ship Inn in Sandgate

Please support this event - Proceeds will go towards Youth Hockey next year.

Easter 2008

It is with great regret that the FOHC Committee have made the decision to significantly downsize the Easter Hockey Festival this year. A smaller event over two days will be held at the club - details of which will be finalised during January. This decision has not been easy bearing in mind that over the last 100 years the Festival has only been cancelled during a World War. However the following reasons have prompted a rethink:

The pitches at Folkestone are in an awful condition which severely limits the quality of hockey that can be played. New pitches planned for the future may help.
The cost of holding the Festival has significantly increased. On two out of the last three years the Festival has been run at a loss. This is unsustainable for the club to continue.
A hooligan element from the local community has caused significant concerns over safety. Several of last years Guest teams have stated that they are not interested in returning to Folkestone for this reason alone.

Downsizing the event will have an impact on local hotels, restaurants, pubs etc and we apologise to all those affected.
